Mr. Hashemi took the chance to also talk with the Afghan students of the fifth generation of the computer science Master's program.
At the beginning Dr. Nazir Peroz welcomed Mr. Hashemi, the Afghan ambassador H.E. Mr. Ariyaee, the head of the IT department of the Afghan presidential office Mr. Gharanai, and all students. He warmly thanked Mr. Hashemi for his visit, and also for his active support during the application project of the Master's students in Afghanistan in August and September 2019.
In the following, Mr. Daniel Tippmann, research assistant at the ZiiK, briefly introduced the work and philosophy of the ZiiK. Particular attention was paid to the demand orientation of the Master's program and the past four generations of students who have been educated at the TU Berlin since 2008. Furthermore, Mr. Tippmann gave a brief overview of the history of the ZiiK of TU Berlin and the projects in Afghanistan since 2002.
Mr. Hashemi then addressed the students and emphasized how urgently the Afghan society and his ministry need qualified specialists in the future, especially in the field of IT. In this context, he reported on the current restructuring of his ministry and the newly established departments which are headed by graduates of the TU Berlin Master's program. He stressed that his ministry will continue to rely on the expertise of future generations and that further jobs for TU graduates will be created here. Mr. Hashemi explicitly asked for further technical support and is looking forward to an even closer cooperation in the future.
Later on, Ms. Azita Azimi and Mr. Khalid Siddiqi, the two group speakers of the current generation of the Master's program, reported on their experiences in studying at TU Berlin. They also described their impressions from the two-month application project in Afghanistan.
