IT exhibition in Kabul, Afghanistan 21.-22.12.2016


On December 21st and 22nd, 2016, an exhibition of IT projects from Afghan students took place at the IT competence center (ITCC) in Kabul. 20 outstanding IT projects in direct relation to the civil situation in Afghanistan were presented to a broad public. The best five of these projects were chosen by a jury of representatives from science, politics and the industry.


On December 22nd, these winners were awarded with prizes by H.E. the Afghan First Lady, Mrs. Rula Ghani, and H.E. the Afghan Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Farida Momand.


The topics of the student IT projects were ranging from software development for the Afghan administration, security technologies for different applications, biometric registration of voters to an automated irrigation system controlled by solar radiation.


The five winners received a high-grade notebook as a prize. Sponsors of these prizes are the German Embassy in Kabul, the Department Informatics and social development of the German Computer Science Association and the Center for international and intercultural Communication of TU Berlin.
