This year’s IT conference topic was “Cyber Security”. The aim of this three-day conference was to discuss aspects of IT security with representatives of Afghan Government, authorities, universities, the Information Security Group of Afghanistan as well as international guests. On the second conference day, three workshops did take place about the topics of IT Education and Awareness, IT Security Infrastructure and Management of IT Security. The results of these workshops were presented and discussed on the third day. One of the results was that modern IT can only be implemented successfully, if, besides functional and economical aspects, IT security would be considered respectively, too. Digitalization without IT security will cause unpredictable risks and costs. This is particularly the case in countries such as Afghanistan where modern technologies are currently being employed and showing high growth rates.
