Event for intercultural exchange
Due to the occasion of the end of the fasting month, the ZiiK Team invited its Master's students as well as PhD Students to a small Eid get-together on July 6th, 2016.
Sharing Baklava, cookies, fruit and tea was a good opportunity for the participants to engage in conversations.
During the event, an instructive talk was held about the meaning of the fasting month.
A student gave insight into the historical and cultural background of this tradition with a short speech: During the fasting month, believers shall not drink, eat, etc between sunrise and sunset.
This fasting month is also called Ramadan and stands for charity and good deeds.
The end of the fasting month is celebrated with friends and family for three days.
