President Ashraf Ghani opens the 11th IT conference in Kabul

Every year the ministry of higher education in
Kabul organizes an IT conference with technical support of the
ZiiK, as well as with financial support of the German
Federal Foreign Office and the German Academic Exchange Service
(DAAD). This year's conference on December 12, 2015,
was the eleventh in a row and the theme was "Progress and
Highlight of the conference was the grand opening by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Ashraf Ghani, together with Dr. Nazir Peroz from the ZiiK of TU Berlin. Furthermore, the Minister of Higher Education, H.E. Prof. Dr. Farida Mohmand, the German Ambassador in Kabul, Mr. Markus Potzel, numerous other high-level representatives of the Afghan universities and of international public and private organizations and more than 150 invited guests took part in the conference.
Within the scope of several workshops and panels, questions about progress and challenges in the areas of IT Education, E-Learning, the Afghan research and education network (AfgREN), as well as the Higher Education Managment System (HEMIS) were discussed.
